SONNE

With the commission of the new RV SONNE on November 17, 2014 from a technical point of view a new area started. The research vessel is available to all disciplines of marine science, but operates primarily in the Pacific and Indian Ocean. Among the future scientific challenges are in addition to applied research topics in respect to climate change, protection of the marine ecosystem, and the use of marine resources, basic research as well.
