The HEINCKE research ship was put into operation in 1990 and is one of Germany’s medium-sized research vessels. The HEINCKE operating areas are the North Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean. She is fitted with a wide range of equipment for research projects in the fields of biology and hydrography. The vessel is in operation for about 200 days a year for such missions.
